I made it to the end of the week unscarred. My mentor teacher has calmed down and I think we are in avoidance mode. Wednesday was a teacher inservice day and I chose to 'email in with a sick child'. She never responded nor shared any of the information from the training sessions with me. I can only believe the day was uneventual and not really that important for student teachers?
Friday was wonderful and such a relief. She was out and a substitute was provided. The classes ran much smoother and if there were any porblems it was something minimal and taken care of on the spot. I can not believe the night and day difference when the actual classroom teacher is not there.
I have joined an online group to inspire me, motivate me, and challenge me to keep up with crafting. The more I look around and think about things I have several unfinished projects. I also have enough yarn, beads, and cross stitch items to open a small store - so why do I keep buying more? I really should only be buying things I need to finish current projects. Can I blame the stores for sending me coupons? Really most of the stuff was on sale, clearance or 40% off LOL.
With in 5 miles of where I live I have a JoAnn's, Michaels, HobbyLobby and recently discovered http://www.herrschners.com/ . All so very dangerous, but they all have such cute things. UGH... what is a woman to do.
Right now I am desperatly trying to finish a table runner for my mothers annivesray (that was in Janurary). I hope to have it done this weekend. I probably have 2-3 more hours on it then I am done. I need help with the last part and that should be 1 good long evening. I need to get that send up to her. I have a yellow and purple crochet blanket that I started back in October that I need to get done. No purpose or intended recieptent of the blanket but I need to finish it. The project was started as a way to finish up extra yarn LOL. I have a huge blanket I started for Joey TWO YEARS ago that needs to get done. Im doing a different stitch pattern and its just very difficult so I've been avoiding it. Plus I have found a number of skiens of 'wash cloth' yarn AKA Sugar and Spice and I want to now get those done as well.
So that is what 3-4 active projets plus the entire crate of cross stitch i have to do and the overflowing crate of yarn for crochet. What I have allowed myself to accept that I need is a complete set of bamboo handled crochet hooks. I purchsed a container for them and since my hands cramp this type of hook really helps and I find it necessary. They are quite expensive $3-$4 per hook but I look at it as an investment.
In my defense I DO NOT scrapbook, I DO NOT SEW so there are worse things. I do have a few things to make beaded bracelets but that is nothing major. Those materials are contained in 2 average lunch sized tupperware containers. (Beads, wire, clasps, etc) And I can use some of the beads in X-stitch as a bit of embelishment if I so choose. Oh how fancy I can be.
To day I really want to get a pedicure. I need an oil change for the car but I want a pedicure...I could probably wait another week but I think I want some ME time for an hour.
